Description
START MANUFACTURING TODAY! FOR OWNERS OF CNC PLASMA TABLES So you finally got a DynaTorch, Practical CNC, TorchMate, or other CNC Cutting Table. Now you need to make some money with it (the sooner, the better). There are several ways to go about it. You can either 1. Just make artsie stuff  and go to craft fairs 2. Make components for others (manufacturing or machine shop stuff) 3. Use it for design setup for other machines to manufacture (prototyping or programing) 4. Or a combination. Take it from someone who has owned one for the last 6 years. You need products to manufacture that are either useful and/or beautiful (and the key word in the last sentence was not useful OR beautiful). You need to MANUFACTURE! You need to write it once and cut it a bunch. It has to be something that people are willing to pay money for. Lets say, you go with option 1. You buy a standard Plasma CD and you make some of the standard cuts, then take the finished products to a craft fair. Do you think you will see any other vendors with very similar cut metal (from the standard CD) at the craft fair? I sure did! And they were selling it a lot cheaper than I had planed on selling my stuff for. They also had big trailers, went from state to state, and had a massive inventory of ready made standard items (most pre finished with a variety of colors). They had a lot of $ on the line. From the people I have talked to, they had a few items that did well, but there was nothing people were beating down their door for (if there was, they should have droped everything and made that money). Also, most users who get into it for the artsie stuff, are not programmers. Nor do many of them have experience with a plasma torch (some have no experience at all, and some have experience with an oxy torch or with welding). This makes the challenge of getting a good cut all the more interesting (there is more to it than just hitting the go button). So option 1 renders a host of competitors making similar products (not to mention the guys with lasers, who can do it a lot cheaper than a plasma torch can). I made the artsie stuff (but I made my own), and passed on the craft fairs. (take a look at the picture below of the harley davidson coffey table with matching end tables, and coasters. I made those for an art contest, and won!) People liked my work better than a simple cutout of a horses head, and they sought me out via word of mouth. I got their attention! Lets say you go with option 2. You are going to solicite manufactures and fabricators in your area to perform contract work, or you are going to use it for your own fabrication work. If you are doing your own fabrication, you should be all set. If you are going to solicite jobs from others, you need to ask yourself "why would they want to do business with me"? Some of this business is old boy network stuff. I have under bid others before, and lost the work, because someone that they knew, or had been doing business with in the past, they were more familar with. In a situation like that, you need a proven winner. You need to walk in the door of a perspective customer, with proof in your hand, that you can do almost anything. What you walk in the door with must demonstrate that your ideas are practical, and well engineered. Weather you walk in with an artsie item, or an engineered item (items that demonstrate engineering skill are attractive to the engineering types, while everyone likes intricate artsie stuff), it has to look right. You want these people to remember you. You want your phone to ring with questions of "can you make this"? If you are going for option 3, you are probably advanced enough to be good to go. If you are less experienced, too busy with other things (I routinely spend days or weeks designing), or completely clueless, you  might need a jump start to get your creative juices flowing (I wish someone would have helped me!). I Can Help You! I semi retired from my engineering job, and got myself a Plasma cutting table. I have a collection of projects (as opposed to simple shilouet cutouts) which I now offer to others, which can help you make money. These are the ones I have found, make money. Getting a really good design, that is unique, people "just gotta have", and designed to give the best cut quality, takes time and can cost $ during the design stage. LET MY TIME INVESTMENT IN DESIGN, PAY YOU! I offer for your consideration, a tried and tested CNC plasma project which will get you on the road to success. The Scooter Weather Vane. This is a CNC project which will create an item you can use, sell, or use to impress others with you skills. If you own a CNC plasma torch, this item is a proven winner! You Are Bidding On The Electronic Information (DXF file format) Necessary To Construct This Project Using Your CNC Plasma Torch or Laser. The Scooter Weather Vane Weather Vane (vain), CNC made, would make a great gift for any gear head -  harley rider - person who likes weather vanes - farmer - wedding gift. JUMP ON THE BAND WAGON! To date, plasma operators who have bought this design have sold over 6,000 Weather Vanes. What Can The Scooter Weather Vane Do For You? 1. People love these! LOOK AT THE DETAIL! EVERYONE who has seen one of these says "WOW". Then they ask "where did you get it at"? When you tell them you made it, they want to know how much. (I routinely sell these at $100.00, and sell 5+ for $75.00 each, and when I get them made, they are all sold before I even started). I used to drive around with one mounted on a board in the back of my truck (I would be taking orders). Where I live is harley country. Every weekend the roads are poluted with bikers. It was not hard to get orders. 2. These can be made from small scraps of steel. The largest cut is of the scooter. Everything else can be made from material that would otherwise be thrown away. 3. The scooter cut out alone is a money maker. Seperate it from the arrow, customize it with a name, and people pay good money for these unique keepsakes New For The Scooter Weather Vane Now Includes Universal Mounting Base, FREE!   PLUS, BUY NOW AND RECEIVE FREE GIFTS Buy now, and receive all of the following free gifts (all projects are torch ready): 1.
