Description
It's in the eyes, it's all in the eyes. That is what many clients have said after I captured their beloved animal in a portrait. I do believe it is so important to portray the animal as the owner sees them. I will work together with you to an end result that we will both be very pleased with. I will work from photos, the animal when possible and your thoughts and ideas. Since it is a piece of artwork, I can clean a dirty horse, add braids and I can combine several photos together to arrive at the very best pose. We will work together to decide what is best for you. I will show you a proof of the piece when it is near completion and your satisfaction is guaranteed. Matting is available for $15.00. Framing with a double matt is available for $65.00. You are bidding on any size portrait between the sizes of 9" X 12" and 24" X 24" in graphite pencil. I use canvas paper, it lends very favorably to the work, or board, depending on the size and what I think would be best. You will supply me with the photos for the portrait and we will get started from there. I prefer mailing of photos, whenever possible, via priority with verified delivery. You can send me duplicates, so you have your originals. If you need to email me the photos, please let me know. I can also do more than one subject in a piece. Please watch for my paintings, prints, atc's (art trading cards) limited editions and of course my portraits. I studied at the well known Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D. C. I was a drawing major, which is reflected in my drawings and I do believe this studied skill enhances my entire portfolio. My WILD HORSE SERIES (before all those others came along) was very popular, even presented to celebrities, it also graced the cover of a popular horse game. I designed and wrote the "JUST SAY NEIGH" slogan and logo for the horse rescue in Maryland. I am the official artist of the WILD HORSE PRESERVE in the Adorandack's. I wrote the book "So.... you draw horses?" (the equine artist's marketing guide and source directory). My work has been featured in numerous publications over the years. I put GEN 1:23 under my signature on all of my works. That is when God created the hooved animals and I am so thankful for that. Horses have been such a big, wonderful part of my life. I started riding at age 3 and continued from then on to a professional career of successfully training and competing hunters and working with problem horses. I have owned many horses over the years, and currently have 2 lovely mares fondly nicnamed Edith and Hannah. These 2 pieces are samples of my graphite work. If you would like to see my color portraits, please visit my store. Please feel free to contact me at any time for quotes on other sizes, other mediums and so on. SMOKE-FREE ENVIRONMENT COMMISSIONS THAT SPEAK TO YOU, IMAGES THAT SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES None of my work may be reproduced in any form without my sole consent. All work is copyrighted. At first I wasn't going to put my name here. But, after much thought, I figured I really should. You see, I originally, many years back used BETS, then I used Betsy Klieger, then I used Betsy Klieger-Linamen. Coming back to my art, I am very torn as to what to use. You see, my son was Mike Linamen, left us in 2003. He was in the National Guard, was a good kid and touched many, many people during his lifetime. He is and will be with me in each and every brush stroke. He loved my work and was probably my most avid fan. If you ever see 4MIKE on any of my art, you will now know why. I didn't want to drop the last name because of Mike, but I think it is now ok. I can add 4MIKE to any piece of my choosing, may even hide it in my work- you will have to look for it! I think I should keep it simple and go back to BETS. So, although my first prints are signed Betsy Klieger-Linamen, as well as many of my paintings, along with the several books I wrote, I will now go back to BETS. That is me and in time I do hope the public will recognize me simply as BETS Thanks so much for your time, I appreciate each and every person who views my work and reads my story.
